66 Days to Goals

Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions this year? If so, you’re not alone, many people do. In fact, 10 New Year’s Resolutions for 2015 include:

1) lose weight
2) get organized
3) spend less, save more
4) enjoy life to the fullest
5) stay fit and healthy
6) learn something exciting
7) quit smoking
8) help others achieve their dreams
9) fall in love
10) spend more time with family

A survey conducted by the University of Scranton, which was published in the Jounral of Clinical Psychology, noted 45% of Americans make New Year’s Resolutions and only 8% achieve them. The study found that 75% of people are committed within the first week, and 71% through the second. By February, 64% of people are still maintaining their goals but six months later it’s less than half. Ideally it takes time, on average 66 days to form a habit and only then can it become a routine. Therefore, consider yourself lucky and among the few, if you’ve made it past 66 days with the likelihood of reaching your goal.
